FAQ
Questions groups ask before they book.
About the math, about booking together, and about the day you fly.
The per-person math
Why does one aircraft have such a wide price range?
Hourly rates move with the aircraft's age and position, the season and demand. A jet already near your departure airport avoids empty repositioning time, so its operator can price lower than one flying in from far away.
Which taxes are in your estimates?
For domestic US flights we add 7.5% federal excise tax and the federal segment fee, about $5 per passenger for each leg. International trips use different fees, set out in your quote. The IRS publishes the excise tax rules.
Why is a one-way trip more per person than half a round trip?
Because the aircraft usually has to fly home empty, and that time is priced in. Occasionally a one-way is cheaper: when an operator already needs to move the aircraft your way, it may sell that empty leg at a discount, often 25–75%, on a fixed route and time.
What does a waiting day cost?
Many operators bill a daily minimum, often one or two hours, for every day the aircraft is assigned to your trip, plus crew hotel costs. On a long stay, sending the aircraft home and back can be cheaper. Your quote shows both if it matters.
Booking as a group
Who signs and pays?
One person or company signs the charter agreement and pays the operator under its terms. How your group shares the cost is up to you; our per-person figure is a starting point for that conversation.
Can a few of us fly out and others fly back?
Yes. Multi-city and split itineraries are common for groups. List the legs and who is on each in the request, and we will price them together or separately, whichever is cheaper.
What if someone drops out?
The aircraft price stays the same, so the share for everyone else rises. If the group shrinks a lot before booking, a smaller aircraft may bring the total back down; ask us to re-price.
How do cancellations work?
The charter agreement sets the cancellation terms, which differ by operator and by how close to departure you cancel. We show them alongside each option.
On the day
How early should the group arrive?
Private terminals usually ask for 15 to 30 minutes before a domestic departure, more when passports are checked. Your advisor sends the exact time and the terminal address.
How much luggage can a group bring?
It depends on the aircraft's baggage space and its weight limits on the day. Tell us about skis, golf bags or hard cases when you ask for a price, so we size the aircraft for them.
Are pets allowed?
On a good number of aircraft, yes, once the operator has approved them. Include the number and size of your animals in the request and every option we send will allow them.
Ready to split a real number?
Send the route and the head count. We will price the whole aircraft, all in, and show the share per person.
