The crossover point

When the group math wins

Private jet charter is sold per aircraft, not per seat. The math flips in your favor once enough travelers fill the cabin — here's where it usually happens.

6+ travelers is the tipping point

Split a $24K midsize across 8 people and you're at $3K each — often the same or less than walk-up first class on the same city pair.

Crossover ≈ 6 pax

3+ hours saved door-to-door

No 2-hour early arrival, no connections, no TSA lines. Drive to the FBO, board in minutes, depart on your schedule.

~3.0 hr saved on TEB→MIA

Whole-jet, fully private

Whether 4 of you fly or 9, you've chartered the entire aircraft. The cabin is yours — no strangers, no middle seats.

100% cabin privacy

10,000+ airports vs ~500 commercial

Fly closer to your real destination. Teterboro over JFK. Aspen direct. Stowe via a 3,500-ft strip the airlines can't touch.

20× more airports

Luggage per person, not per fee

No baggage fees, no oversized surcharges. Midsize jets typically handle 8 bags plus golf clubs or skis — split across your group.

~50 lbs / pax, midsize

Three quotes, one request

Each trip returns three operator options — aircraft class, price, and safety rating — so your group can pick the right value per person.

3 quotes / trip

"For our partner retreats of 8–10 people, the per-person math comes out at or below first class — and we land 90 minutes from Manhattan instead of fighting JFK."

Door-to-door value

The hours you save are worth more than the seat

Per-person price is half the story. The other half is the time private returns to your group — no early arrival, no connections, no missing bags.

  • Depart on your schedule, not the airline's
Show up 15 minutes before wheels-up at the FBO. Hold the plane if a meeting runs late.
  • Direct to 10,000+ airports
Skip the hub-and-spoke penalty. Land at Teterboro, Aspen, Stowe, Nantucket — places the majors can't reach.
  • Productive cabin for the whole group
Stand-up headroom, Wi-Fi, and a cabin your team actually meets in — not a 17-inch-wide seat in row 14.

Frequently asked questions

The five questions group organizers ask before they split a charter.

What group size usually wins vs first class?
For most domestic routes, the crossover lands around 6 to 8 travelers. Once you fill 6+ seats on a light or midsize jet, the per-person cost often meets or beats commercial first class — and you skip the airport lines, connections, and fixed airline schedules. On shorter hops (VNY→LAS, LGA→YYZ) the crossover can come as low as 4 to 5 passengers.
Do empty seats lower quality?
No. An empty seat does not change the cabin, crew, catering, Wi-Fi, or service level. You are chartering the whole aircraft either way; unfilled seats simply raise your effective cost per person. Many groups fly partial and still book the entire jet for privacy, security, or luggage.
Can we partially fill and still book the whole jet?
Yes — every quote is for the whole aircraft. All trips are operated by FAA Part 135 carriers and arranged by Private JetOne under Part 295. You can fly solo, as a couple, or with a partial group; you simply pay for the whole jet, which is exactly why per-person math matters when splitting the cost.
Do kids and infants count toward the passenger total?
Every soul on board counts toward the aircraft's maximum seat capacity, including lap infants per FAA Part 135 rules. For per-person math, count anyone who will occupy or need a seat. Children under two may sometimes travel as lap infants, but the aircraft's certified seat count is fixed — if you exceed it, you need a larger jet.
What are the baggage limits per person?
Baggage limits depend on the aircraft, not the seat count. A light jet typically allows about 40 lbs per passenger in the cabin; midsize and super-midsize jets often accommodate 50+ lbs plus golf bags, skis, or oversized cases. Heavy jets handle still more. Final limits are confirmed by the operating Part 135 carrier on your binding quote.
